Just another Reason for Private Jet Hire

August 2nd, 2008 by admin

In a recent article of the Wall Street Journal blog entitled The Battle of Wounded Knees, flyers engage in heated debate over using the Knee Defender device and other ways to protect one’s knees from the passenger in front of you. Tall people say they have the right to keep their legs before them without risk of injury while others say they pay for the “luxury” of reclining for a snooze and they intend to use it. Disabled people weigh in too, since they often have needs for sitting or reclining due to pain and other issues.

While some readers feel it’s common courtesy to keep one’s chair upright, others are adamant that they have the right to utilize the comfort for which the seats (and I say this somewhat jokingly) were built. Some members of this group go so far as to suggest that tall and infirmed people pay extra for business or first class – or even for the seat in front of them – in order to enjoy minimal safety and comfort.

Where does one’s space begin and end in an airplane, and just whose space is it anyway? With the current drive of the airlines toward economizing, this heated debate is not likely to end anytime soon. Hey, here’s an idea… Why don’t we all just accept being marginalized, buck up, and pay for extra seating space we need to be comfortable? Wouldn’t the airlines love that?

Fortunately, when traveling with private air charter, we never have to experience being squished like a sardine. Just another reason to fly a private air charter!

Private Air Charters: Fuel Costs

June 9th, 2008 by admin

Well, airlines are at it again. According to a recent Associated Press article (June 5, 2008), Continental willCorporate Air Charter - businessmen cut 3,000 jobs, representing 6.5% of their employee base, and reduce capacity by 11 percent. With fuel costs nearly doubling in the past year, things are getting so bad that their top executives will even forgo pay and incentives for the rest of the year! Wow. Now there’s going to be even less flights and fewer planes in the air, wait times and crowding of flights could get even worse. Aren’t you glad you’re flying corporate air charters? But how will the private air industry be affected by these changes?

The good news is that, so far, no price increases have been announced, though it could certainly happen at some point. Part of this could be due to the fact that, while commercial airlines are struggling to meet the bottom line, the private air industry is actually growing. This private air charter boom is due in large part, to the development of online brokers. With private air charter services now sharing information, the industry is able to more efficiently deploy charter aircraft, including filling the bane of private jet charters, the “empty leg” flight. This means substantial savings for one-way customers who used to have to pay both legs.

Looking ahead, industry insiders see internet brokers, such as OneSky, making corporate air charters more efficient, easier to access and more affordable for potential customers.

Air Charter Safety: The new Wyvern PASS

May 6th, 2008 by admin

Corporate Air Charter: Wyvern PASSIf you want to make sure that safety is more than a buzzword on a website, that the private air charter you book is truly safe for your family, friends, company and personal needs, then look for services utilizing PASS.

What is PASS?

PASS stands for Pilot & Aircraft Safety Survey, a new program developed by Wyvern, the air charter industry’s leading technology and information service provider, to perform comprehensive trip safety due diligence on each private flight assigned by a participating air charter service or broker.

The Pilot & Aircraft Safety Survey replaces old systems with advanced data crawlers that aggregate almost all information on important aspects of flight safety automatically, including operator, aircraft and crew. The pilot check, for example, verifies pilots’ medical status, training records, flight hours and other criteria to assure they meet all FAA requirements. The engine then summarizes the findings into an easy-to-read report for the air charter vendor.

After – and only after – an assigned craft and crew has been verified by PASS will the participating air charter service or broker confirm the flight.

Stepping Up for Safety

PASS is a volunteer program. So you can be assured that any private jet charter you see using this service is going the extra mile to assure customer safety. And, the best part is, this check is done on top ofCorporate Air Charter: Jet 1 already-existing standards of safety. According to Wyvern, OneSky Jets is the first launch partner to systematically use the new PASS program. Says Jim Betlyon, CEO of Wyvern, “We’ve had a strong relationship with OneSky Jets almost since its inception; I know they’ve always been dedicated in providing their customers with world-class service.” And Greg Johnson, OneSky’s president and CEO said, “I’m happy to see that the participation of OneSky in the development of PASS has resulted in a comprehensive, yet easy-to-use trip due diligence system.”

Jets for Pets

May 4th, 2008 by admin

If you’ve ever thought about flying your pet on a private air charter but wondered if it was crazy, think again. According to a survey done by private jet charter company, OneSky Jets, pets fly on about one quarter of all the company’s charters. Even more surprising, 15% of clients say flying pets privately is their No. 1 reason to charter!

The release says “regulars” who might be taking a ski trip to Aspen or heading for a winter vacation in Palm Corporate Air Charter puppy 1Beach will frequently fly their dogs in the adjacent seat on the Gulfstream. One example, from the release, is a couple who flies their two dogs between their homes in New York and North Dakota about four times per year. And, OneSky says, it isn’t unusual for a client to want their pet flown privately, unaccompanied by human passengers.

Why book Fluffy on a private air charter? Aside from not wanting to part with pooch, of course, (after all, who wants to leave their furry friends in a kennel or with strangers when you can just easily take them along?) safety issues and restrictions by the airlines make it challenging to do so on commercial flights. Most find it difficult to impossible to squeeze them into passenger cabins and authorities will only allow them in holds when the outside temperature is amenable. And, worse, there have been reported deaths.

Let’s face it, rational or not, most of us love our dogs just like they’re people – some of us even think of them as our kids! You wouldn’t risk your loved ones on transportation that may cause them harm, so why risk your pet? If you’ve been thinking about flying Fluffy, then consider private air charters for your convenience. Your precious pooch need never leave your side. And s/he will be treated like a part of the family he is while traveling in safety and comfort.

Corporate Air Charters: Are they Right for You?

Corporate Air Charter: Lear 55

If you fly frequently for work or play, you may be in for some hassles on the horizon. With fuel prices soaring, commercial air carriers have been cutting back flights year over year for the past few years. Trimming routes, cutting back on the frequency of flights and switching to smaller planes are just a few of the measures airlines are taking to trim costs in hopes of bolstering the bottom line. This means even longer waits, more bumped flights, and worse crowding are ahead for regular flyers. In addition, airlines are getting pickier about weight, adding fees for extra luggage and other services. Gone are the days of in-flight meals and other amenities that used to make flying seem civilized. What’s next? Who knows, but the prospects don’t look pretty.

Fortunately, there is an alternative if you can fork out the dough. If you haven’t done so before, now might be a good time to consider private air charters. If you’ve ever wondered if a private jet charter is right for your life or business, here are a few facts you may want to consider.

The Pros and Cons of Corporate Air Charters

Benefits:

  1. Easy boarding. No lengthy lines for check in. Period. Get on your flight and go.
  2. More free time up front. No arriving hours ahead of time to stand in line for security and baggage claim.
  3. Faster flight time. Cut out all those annoying layovers.
  4. Superior comfort. Corporate air charters tend to have nicer interiors, larger seats, and more leg room.corporate air charter: lear interior This can be especially important for large and tall persons, people with pain or disabilities, or for those who want to focus on their work, not their body.
  5. Control over when and where you fly. With commercial flights constantly being cut, corporate air charters represent increasingly better odds of booking to the destination of your choice. And, with private jet charters, you fly exactly when you want, day or night. No more bending your schedule to suit the airline.
  6. Choice of aircraft. Most air charter services offer a variety of aircraft, including jets, planes, and helicopters. You can choose the right size and style of craft for your business or personal needs.
  7. Responsiveness to spontaneity. Whether it’s a fast-breaking deal on which your firm wants to pounce or you just feel inclined to fly the boys to the Keys for some fishing on a whim, corporate air charters can give you a flight fast, with no hassle.
  8. Privacy. With a corporate air charter you can conduct in-flight meetings or snuggle up with your honey for a romantic rendezvous in the clouds.
  9. Peace and quiet. No more crying babies (unless they’re your own) or other distractions. You can work, rest, or relax in whatever way suits your needs in the moment.
  10. Food and drink. Most private jet hires have a pleasant array of beverages available, can provide the meals you request and/or allow you to bring on whatever you like
  11. Bring your pet. For many travelers, this is one of the most important considerations. On private air charters, Fluffy never has to be left behind. Your pooch or other furry friend is always welcome.

In short, corporate air charters can increase productivity for you and your employees by reducing the amount of time wasted in flight and pre-flight activities. It also provides a more appropriate environment for in-flight meetings and other work while lending comfort, ease of scheduling, and privacy. For those who demand comfort or like some level of control over their environment, corporate air charters offer a good solution to some of the challenges of travel.

Drawbacks:

  1. Expense. The biggest drawback, of course, is cost. Many individuals and companies who might like to use air charters are understandably concerned about the costs. Yet, if compared with the cost of a privately-owned jet — insurance, maintenance, fuel, pilot costs, liability — corporate air charters could actually represent a savings.

Competition Making Corporate Air Charter Less Expensive

With more people than any time in history earning six-figure incomes and commercial flights becoming increasingly uncomfortable, demand for private jet charters is on the rise. And the air charter industry is growing and consolidating to meet that demand. New models of business are appearing, organizing private jet carriers into networks which can better serve the customer, as well as utilizing the power of the internet to compete and drive prices down. What is emerging is a priceline-type environment for bargain-hunting jet setters. Two of these models are jet membership cards and fractional jet ownership. Both require a substantial deposit, after which you are free to access air charter services without the stress and expense of private ownership. And, in comparison to commercial flights, the service is generally far above average.

Summary

There are a lot of advantages to using corporate air charter services. These include privacy and comfort, increased productivity for executives and staff, and the freedom to travel when, where, and with whom you choose. Private air charter is an evolving industry, seeking to competitively meet the demands of a changing world. If you haven’t checked it out, or if it has been a while, it might be worth your time. In my search for safety and value, here is the private air charter company that I liked best.
